Please Don’t Do This!

She knew this was not what she wanted

She convinced herself during the long ride that it would be okay

She knew he was only here because she wanted to complete and seal the deal

She knew deep down inside how it would end

Drew exhaled slowly when she pulled up to the entrance of his driveway

She reversed cautiously and pulled up beside his Porsche, and parked

Deep down inside her heart, she knew she should drive away, but she persisted

She gathered her things gingerly, walked up to the driveway, and rang the doorbell

The door opened to the most charming smile she had ever seen

The whiff of his cologne mesmerized her senses, followed by a sensual hug

Drew entered his living room while he offered her a seat and a glass of wine

She entered into a daze while he rambled about his car

Her mind wandered, and she wondered why she was in his house

She looked at her watch, and it was half past twelve

Everything around her seemingly sent a message

The moon shined brighter, however, she felt unilluminated

Her palms were sweaty, and her breathing became heavy and difficult

The wind howled, and trees outside waved franticly

He came up behind her and nibbled on her ear

Instantly she shuddered and stepped away

What’s wrong? Are you cold? You seem tense, he questioned

I am okay just a little tired from work today, she lied

It’s okay in a little while you’ll feel better, he said while smiling

He took her hand and led her slowly upstairs

She saw his bedroom door, and immediately her knees felt wobbly

It was now or never, and she had to decide

While she undressed under the sheets, she felt every inch of her dignity stripped away

He approached her, held her hands, and whispered. Are you ready?

She looked around the room and immediately wished she could teleport into the safety of her car.

As she hid her eyes in the pillow, a still small voice whispered, please don’t do this!
